A Chartered Mechanical Engineer with over 25 years’ experience in the energy industry in the UK, Ireland, Europe, Africa, Japan and the Middle East, Ed has held senior positions in blue chip utilities, generation, transmission, supply and consultancy organisations. His track record includes managing a portfolio of CHP systems and, as a member of the senior management team of an engineering/environmental services consultancy, development of Renewable Energy projects for bio-gas, energy from waste and industrial/farm on-site wind turbines. Ed also developed renewable energy generation, procurement and carbon reduction strategies for a FTSE 100 retail organisation.

After studying electrical engineering, Michael forged a career in energy and environmental consultancy, working with some of the UK’s leading practices. During the 1990’s Michael specialised in helping high profile clients to exploit opportunities in the newly privatised and deregulated energy markets. More recently, Michael was part of a management buyout (mbo) team that acquired the UK’s leading energy consultancy, subsequently selling the business to a PLC. As Managing Director of Inenco, now the UK’s largest energy and environmental consultancy, he leads a team of more than 360 staff and heads a network of 7 offices across the UK. He is also a director of several other companies, including NIFES Consulting Group and Saturn Energy. As an acknowledged energy entrepreneur, Michael is a proponent of distributed renewable generation and has helped to develop a pioneering approach for the trading of the resultant energy and renewable benefits. He is a member of the Institute of Directors and a founder member of the Anaerobic Digestion and Biogas Association (ADBA).

Simon
comes from a dairy farming family, based close to Lytham on the Fylde Coast of
Lancashire.
After
graduating from Hull University in 1983, he joined the then Yorkshire
Electricity Board, with whom he qualified as a Certified Accountant in 1987.
In 1996 Simon
led the management buyout of the buildings and grounds maintenance services from
Yorkshire Electricity to form Spice plc. Spice started with 12 employees and one
contract for £3m. It now employs 4,500 staff worldwide and turns over £400m.
Spice floated on the London Stock Exchange in 2004. Simon was Chief Executive
Officer of Spice plc from its formation until 2010.

Finance Director
Brian is a Chartered Certified Accountant with more than 20 years' experience, advising companies from across the UK in a whole range of sectors, from agriculture to financial services, manufacturing and franchising, including FTSE listed businesses.
A Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants since 1996, Brian is a partner at Rawcliffe & Company, a leading regional practice based in the North West of England, which was established over 80 years ago. He joined the board of Farmgen as Finance Director in 2009, having previously advised since its inception.
